Based in St Helens, Merseyside, EDP Health, Safety and Environment has been in business for over 20 years - ever since the demand to satisfy new European health and safety legislation was starting to grow.

Since then, EDP has grown consistently in size and breadth of market sectors served. EDP has also expanded beyond the UK into Europe and Asia.

We are able to develop cost-effective health and safety solutions that are tailored to your individual needs, without being bureaucratic and which positively impact your culture and bottom line. With much Health and Safety legislation based on European directives, in addition to the UK we can service organisations in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and in the Asia Pacific region. Environment

Organisations are placing increasing importance on Environmental Management and many need help to establish a viable system for controlling their impact on the environment.

We tailor our services to the needs of each organisation, whether they already have an environmental strategy or don't even know where to start. We have the necessary experience from having helped many companies to improve their environmental performance. Our approach is to present a number of alternatives for achieving environmental goals so that each company can choose what is best for them.

Construction

Unlike other consultancies working in the Construction sector we are able to provide a wide range of consultancy services to clients needing advice on all matters relevant to the built environment including CDM, construction and operational safety issues.

Outsourcing

Some organisations prefer to handle most of their Health, Safety and Environment responsibilities in-house - calling in specialist help only when essential. We fully support organisations who prefer this approach and are able to supplement your in-house facilities with whatever additional services you need.

More and more organisations, however, are discovering the benefits of outsourcing their safety and environment work to specialists like ourselves. The law does not allow you to delegate "responsibility" but it does allow you to outsource virtually all other aspects of Health and Safety to competent professionals.

Training

Competency of your staff is vital, from Director Duties to First Aiders and everything in between. We offer all the training and mentoring you need to manage your own health, safety and environmental systems. Where appropriate, we can also offer computer based training (CBT) facilities, for example to ensure computer users are aware of the health and safety issues associated with their workstations.
