CIEH Level 3 Award in Principles of Risk Assessment

Overview

Employers and the self employed have a legal duty to assess health and safety risks. Anyone carrying out a risk assessment needs to have the necessary knowledge and skills.

This course ensures that supervisors and managers have the depth of understanding needed to carry out risk assessments.

Learning Outcomes

The knowledge to manage health and safety in most organisations
Able to develop programmes for auditing and monitoring health and safety
Able to design safe practices and procedures
Understanding of how to liaise with enforcement officers
Ability to understand and interpret health and safety legal requirements
Knowledge to establish a programme of risk assessments and provide associated staff training


Participants' level of understanding is assessed by means of a written assignment and examination.

This course is accredited by Ofqual.

Who should attend

This training is vital for anyone who has responsibility for auditing or monitoring health and safety management systems. This includes Owners of businesses, Managers and Supervisors.

Duration

This is an estimated three day course, which includes 7 hours training plus additional time to complete the course assessment assignment.

Preparation

Before attending this course, it is recommended to have attended the Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace or equivalent training.
