Fire Safety Awareness

Overview

Under current legislation, employers are required to provide Fire Training for all employees.

This is a short course that is intended to raise fire safety awareness and provide clear instruction on means of escape in the event of a fire.

Objectives

To have an understanding of evacuation from the workplace.
To educate employees about fire safety and guidance in order to prevent fire breaking out.
To instruct how to recognise the need for evacuation of the premises in an emergency and how this should be done in a prompt and supervised manner.


Who should attend

This course is appropriate for people from any sector and at all levels who need to understand the dangers posed by fire in the workplace and the safe way to respond should a fire start.

No prior knowledge is assumed.

Duration

This is a short course, typically between 1 and 1½ hours duration.

Preparation

To gain maximum benefit from the course, attendees should be familiar with local evacuation arrangements for their place of work, including evacuation routes and assembly point.

Materials

Each delegate will receive a manual containing course information and handouts.
