Fire Warden

Overview

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order requires an employer to assess the suitability of measures currently in place to protect people from the risk of fire.

Additionally, an employer is required to provide suitable training for those members of staff who are responsible for assisting in the fire evacuation procedure.

This course covers the essential knowledge that is needed for this role.

Objectives

The course is designed to assist employees who are nominated as fire wardens to carry out their duties effectively.

By the end of the course delegates will be:

Able to understand the main components of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
Competent to carry out the Fire Warden's responsibilities


Who should attend

Persons nominated to undertake the role of Fire Warden.

Duration

The training requires three and a half hours.

Preparation

To gain maximum benefit from the course, delegates are advised to be familiar with local evacuation arrangements for their place of work, including evacuation routes and assembly points.

If available, delegates should bring a copy of any existing fire evacuation procedure to the session.

Materials

Each delegate will receive a course manual containing information and handouts.
