Internal auditing is an essential component of a successful Environmental Management System (EMS). However, the quality of internal audits can often let down an otherwise successful system.

This course ensures your internal audit team can work effectively and smoothly to produce factual and correctly scoped internal EMS audit reports.

The course is ideal for in-house delivery in order to ensure that your company’s audit team can undertake internal EMS audits to the required standard.

Understand the role of the internal audit process within an Environmental Management System (EMS).
Explain the purpose and structure of ISO 14001.
Understand how to plan and prepare for an internal EMS audit
Understand how to gather objective evidence during an audit
Understand how to write factual audit reports that will improve the effectiveness of the EMS
Gain experience of undertaking an environmental audit under supervision


Who should attend

This course is designed for persons who are new to auditing in general, including environmental auditing, and who require knowledge of the essential tools and techniques required to become a competent internal environmental auditor.

The course is also useful for those who may have received audit training in the past, but had little opportunity to use their skills and therefore require 'refresher' training.
