Course Overview
The course provides instruction as to the nature of Legionnaires' disease, its history and background and the current legislative requirements. It also covers procedures for the management and control of legionella bacteria in hot and cold water systems and cooling towers in accordance with the ACoP and guidance documents on Legionellosis. The course goes on to describe the role and responsibilities of the Responsible Person stressing the need for competency in the management process.
Course Objectives
To provide candidates with an understanding of the nature of the disease, current technical and legal requirements for the control of Legionella in hot and cold water systems, including cooling towers and the responsibilities of those involved in system management.
Who Should Attend
Staff whose responsibilities include the management of building services, including water systems and cooling towers, who require an understanding of the risks and responsibilities of legionella managements.
