Manual Handling Awareness

Overview

Under the Manual Handling Operations Regulations, employers are required to ensure that suitable and sufficient training is provided for those employees who carry out manual handling tasks to enable them to do so in a safe manner.

This course covers the underpinning knowledge and awareness needed by those employees whose duties involve Manual Handling Operations.

Objectives

To raise awareness of correct lifting and carrying techniques for persons who undertake manual handling activities at work.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

Understand the basic workings of the spine and joints and possible causes of injury.
Understand and be able to apply the principles of safe lifting and carrying.


Who should attend

Persons who carry out manual handling activities at work.

Duration

Three hours.
