Designers are in a unique position to reduce the risks that arise during construction work, and have a key role to play in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
Designs develop from initial concepts through to a detailed specification, often involving a number of different teams and people. Designers can make a significant contribution at each stage by identifying and eliminating hazards and, where elimination is not possible, by reducing likely risks from hazards.
The purpose of this Workshop is to provide a concise overview of your specific Designer duties in relation to the legislation and your own CDM 2007 Designer Procedures.
By the end of the Workshop, delegates will be able to understand and practice their Designer duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
All persons who have responsibilities as Designer as defined under the CDM 2007 Regulations.
The Workshop typically lasts around three hours, which includes a practical session.
Prior to attending the Workshop, delegates should have reviewed their own company's CDM Designer Procedures, along with the ConstructionSkills Industry Guidance for Designers (CDM07/4).
A copy of the PowerPoint slides is made available to every delegate after the course.
