About us
Our fresh approach to Health, Safety and Environmental services stems from deciding to do things a little differently.
Like many people, we are dismayed by the endless negativity surrounding the industry and hugely frustrated by the box-ticking approach taken by many working in the area.
So we decided to change this perception and do something different.
Driven by our passion to have a positive impact on the organisations and communities in which we operate, we set about changing the face of Health and Safety.
We take time to understand our clients’ unique operations and develop bespoke solutions based on a deep understanding of their risk profile and appetite. We call this ‘the right approach’ and it has helped us deliver work to businesses of all sizes across the world over the last 25 years.
history
EDP has been helping businesses of all sizes to manage health, safety, environmental and sustainability issues for over a quarter of a century. EDP was established in the early 1990’s to support businesses following the introduction of the Health and Safety ‘Six Pack’ of regulations following the issue of directives by the European Commission. We continued to grow our offering over the following decade to include a full suite of health and safety services which has allowed us to work with some of the biggest and well known organisations in the world.
In the early 2000’s, we decided to further expand our offering with the addition of environmental management and were at the forefront of offering sustainability services before ‘sustainability’ became such a hot topic.
In 2014, the management team of EDP completed a buy-out from the original founder. In 2017, building on the success of the management buy-out, and as part of the business’ long-term growth strategy, EDP completed the strategic acquisition of IOM Consulting Ltd’s (IOM) asbestos site services division encompassing over 30 staff and 4 new offices.
Our focus since then has been to continue to drive excellence in serving and supporting businesses to help them protect their people, property and reputation.
Today, we continue to support organisations across the world and our long standing relationships with our clients is testament to the way we approach our work.
