EDP’s asbestos management, analytical and consultancy services were supplied across the university’s property portfolio, including
- air monitoring and four-stage clearances
- asbestos surveys, consultancy and training
- emergency response services.
EDP’s robust management structure ensured the efficient delivery of the contract and included a contract manager, compliance services, an operations manager, consultants and administration and project support staff. A constant flow of work was completed with an average of three on-site consultants at any given time.
Projects varied in size and complexity from small bulk-sampling tasks to large-scale refurbishment surveying. Dual-role consultants undertook surveying activities, air monitoring and four-stage clearance projects.
When air monitoring and four-stage clearance services were completed, staff with exceptional experience remained to ensure comprehensive understanding of the project and the required outcomes.
All site resources employed on this contract held as a minimum British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) P402, P403 and P404 qualifications and three years’ experience. All staff were audited and authorised under our internal quality assurance scheme to demonstrate competency in undertaking their roles.
EDP provided an asbestos consultancy workshop one day per month to the client compliance team. This free service was overseen by a senior consultant, who provided advice, guidance and training, covering various subject matter.
