CHANGES TO ISO 45001 DELAYED - BUT IT'S STILL WISE TO BE PREPARED

As expert health, safety and environmental consultants, EDP is able to help your organisation to understand more about the proposed new ISO 45001 Standard, as well as the revisions made to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, to ensure you continue to transition to these new Standards whilst the ISO 45001 Management Standard is delayed further into 2017.

The new ISO 45001 Standard is being developed to help organisations to integrate multiple standards into one management system with several specialised sections - for quality, safety, energy and so forth. It is at this stage of the first common language document which is being developed by the technical committee that requires further input.

Whilst the new ISO 45001 is being finalised, organisations seeking a framework for an occupational health and safety management system (OHS) to set out the minimum requirement for OH&S management best practice, we advise to implement the BS OHSAS 18001 system until the new Standards publication date is finally confirmed. Please follow this link for more information about our friendly approach to audits and dislike of bureaucracy.

Additionally, those who are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified are advised to continue to transition to the revision made to both of these standards last year, as the deadline for completion is September 2018, where a certificate to ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 14001:2014 will no longer be valid. More information about ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 can be found HERE
